Deep breath. We’ve got this.

THE CASE FOR HOPE

If you’re someone who cares about our country, it’s been a disillusioning, heartbreaking few years. Here’s why this election is about more than saving our democracy; It’s our chance to dream big and write a new chapter in the American story.

OUR KAIROS MOMENT

Rosa Parks refusing to move to the back of the bus was a kairos moment—a moment in history when the light of God penetrates great darkness and dramatic change occurs, as explained by author Alexia Salvatierra. In that moment, the evil of segregation, and the lies that supported it, were revealed and our nation took a leap forward toward justice.

We have that opportunity now. This election will hinge on voter turnout and there’s reason to believe that people who care about democracy will show up to save it.

For many, their kairos moment was when Trump’s followers attacked the capitol. For others, like me, it was in a private, heartbreaking moment when someone they love revealed they were fully consumed by Trump and Fox News’ hateful lies.

For many others, it was when Roe v. Wade was discarded by a packed, far-right Supreme Court.

ABORTION IS ON THE BALLOT

The GOP has not only threatened to impose a national abortion ban, but some have also proposed making contraception and IVF illegal. The white-hot rage of women will be felt this election.

Additionally, abortion rights will be put directly to voters in several key states, including Nevada, Arizona, and Florida.

A HISTORIC CHANCE TO END GRIDLOCK

We may never see the combination of such a profoundly evil candidate as Trump and as viscerally powerful an issue as abortion to drive turnout. This is our chance to finally secure a majority strong enough to enact the kind of transformative change Republicans have been blocking for decades to give tax breaks to their wealthy donors.

Imagine the potential of an America finally investing in our schools, families, healthcare, infrastructure, and environment.

PROOF? IT’S ALREADY HAPPENING.

Don’t let the polls scare you. Democrats are already defying the odds, pushing back, and winning:

  • Warnock and Ossoff: The stunning results of this runoff in Georgia handed control of the Senate to Democrats against long odds. The beginning of a trend.

  • Historic midterms in 2022: History says the party that holds the presidency suffers major losses in midterms. Dems held the Senate, lost fewer seats in the House than all but four admins in the past century, and for the first time since 1934 a controlling party saw a net gain in Governorships.

  • Tom Suozzi replaces George Santos: In a 16-point swing, Dems reduced the GOP’s already thin majority.

  • State-level victories: Dems flipped the Virginia state House, gained seats in the NJ legislature, and kept the governorship in Kentucky, among other wins.

  • School boards: After extremist groups like Moms for Liberty took over school boards across the country, voters fought back in a massive rebuke in 2023, defeating them in nearly 70% of races.

  • Marilyn Lands wins in Alabama: Lands flipped a GOP-held state House seat with a stunning 33-point swing for Democrats.

  • Abortion rights sweep: California, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Vermont, and Ohio have voted on abortion-related constitutional amendments with voters approving abortion rights protections in every case.

HEROES NEEDED

This can be a major turning point in America’s story. It’s up to us if that is towards dictatorship or a new American age of prosperity and justice. Heroes of all kinds are needed to help elect aggressive Democrats who will take advantage of this rare and fleeting opportunity.

THE PLAN

History says we have a two-year window after we capture the Presidency, the House, and the Senate before we lose a chamber in the midterms. We can’t waste a minute of that window.

YEAR ONE

2025

Democracy: End gerrymandering, mandate 2-week early voting, automatic voter registration, restore Voting Rights Act, statehood for DC and Puerto Rico.

Tax Reform: End Trump tax cuts for the rich, require corporations and wealthy to pay their fair share, restore boosted Child Tax Credit.

Abortion Rights: Codify Roe v. Wade.

Courts: Create commission to study court expansion and reform.

YEAR TWO

2026

Guns: Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, enact universal background checks, mandate safe storage of firearms.

Border: Fund drug detection tech at checkpoints, expand capacity to ensure speedy processing of asylum seekers, pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.

Courts: Expand Supreme Court, term limits, enforceable code of ethics, define “advise and consent” in confirmations, impeach corrupt judges.

“If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.”
